We got a tent. Guess we should actually go camping one of these days. It sleeps seven with a screened in room off of one side.

After fiddling with the generator assembly, I got to fire the beast up. The outcome was a rousing success. The generator fired up without much hesitation. Transfer of power to the house from the generator also worked as planned. Now all that’s left is getting a larger fuel supply…and waiting for the power to die…

After putting it off for awhile, I finally got the generator transfer switch fully installed over the weekend. This means that we are ready for power loss … once we actually get the portable generator. The transfer switch will allow a generator to feed a subset of our home’s electrical circuits should PG&E fail to deliver power (for whatever reason).
